GUDRUN

Gudrun, part of design duo Gudrun & Gudrun

I met faroese designer Gudrun at the Showhow exhibition in Zona Tortona and asked her a few questions. Gudrun designs beautiful knitwear out of 100% faroese  yarns and the label Gudrun & Gudrun is known for scandinavian style and handmade knitwear.

QUESTIONS

What brings you to Milan?

“I had a meeting with one of my distributors here in Milan and then show at the Showhow exhibition.”

What is your favorite place to go or thing to do in Milan?

“I’m not sure. When I come to Milan its to work, but maybe around the headquarters of Prada (via spartago) where the streets are green and across from Prada theres a great little italian restaurant.”

What is the most cool thing you have seen so far?

“Leather chair from MATER shown at the Showhow exhibition.”

ISABEL BERGLUND

Isabel Berglund, artist & designer

I met Copenhagen-based artist and designer Isabel Berglund at an event hosted by the Danish Consulate in Milan and we talked a little about why she is in Milan. Isabel graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2003 specializing in Fashion Knitwear. She has since then moved into the artistic world and she is known for her innovative sculptures where she uses materials like wood and wool.

QUESTIONS

What brings you to Milan?

“The year I participate in two exhibitions; Mindcraft at Zona Tortona by Danish Crafts and Rossana Orlandi Showroom where I’m showing the knitted tree.”

What is your favorite place to go or thing to do in Milan?

“I just arrived so for now I’m enjoying the Italian kitchen and visiting the trendy store 10 Corso Como.”

What is the most cool thing you have seen so far?

“I would definitely recommend that you see the Martin Margiela Shop and of course visit Rossana Orlandi Showroom.”
